I wanted to take a moment to try out the Blog. I am very excited about this class. So much to learn. I am very happy we are getting out into the community. I have volunteered over the last several years for Novato High Safe Grad as co-chair, 20 years with the Mountain Play, 8 -10 years with Marin Shakespeare, (right on our campus!) and Ross Valley Players. I have also been involved with Homeward Bound of Marin.
Now I think I understand "blog!!!"
Im not sure if this is where we post our thoughts about our reading but ill give it a try and see how it goes
ReplyDeleteIn Reading “Whatever It Takes” by Paul Though had made me reflect allot about my life. It had made me reflect deeply about my life in the past present and future. When reading about Geoffrey Canada and his dream about getting to the root cause of the problem in Harlem, it sounded to familiar. Growing up I have heard of many programs benefiting the under privilege and wondered why we needed so many programs like this. As I grew up I began to understand how much my community needed help and how millions of communities in the world needed help. So as humans with age we come to understand that there are billions of suffering people out there that need our help some way or another. Whether its through feeding the hungry or tutoring children in need of assistance. As humans knowing there are suffering people out there would want to gives us a need to help some way or another. Growing up as a Latina in my community my mother knew she would need somebody’s help to get me to where I am today. As a mother she did all she could to put me on the right path to become successful and she did.
Excellent start to our blog. . . Heidi--yes, you are now a blogger!
ReplyDeleteOfficially, everyone posts their text reflection/blog next week. Diana--thanks so much for your thoughts above. This week everyone needs to turn in a hard copy of a text reflection--but the blog can be used at any time for sharing thoughts, asking questions.
